With the continued threat of Trojans, viruses and worms, IDC expects the worldwide antivirus (AV) market to grow from $4.3 billion in 2005 to $7.3 billion in 2010, representing an 11 percent compound annual growth rate. And within 2007 alone, IDC expects a worldwide growth rate in the antivirus market of 13.6 percent1.

BitDefender�s worldwide antivirus software revenue grew a whopping 123.7 percent between 2004 and 2005, a rate faster than any other vendor in the global market. According to IDC�s report, BitDefender�s worldwide corporate antivirus revenue growth between 2004 and 2005 topped the list at 73 percent. Additionally, BitDefender had a worldwide consumer antivirus growth rate of 154.1 percent during the same period, giving them a 1.3 percent market share and making them the sixth biggest antivirus manufacturer in the consumer sector. Finally, BitDefender had a worldwide client-based antivirus revenue growth of 176.7 percent between 2004 and 2005, putting their growth rates ahead of other vendors in this market.
