Bitdefender®, the award-winning provider of innovative antivirus solutions, scored the highest protection rate of all antivirus products in independent testing by AV Comparatives and won another Advanced + Award

Bitdefender scored a protection rate of 99.6 percent, beating all 20 other computer security products that underwent the rigorous testing by the independent computer analysis organization, according to the published AV Comparatives test results. The testing was carried out in March and June on Bitdefender’s highly acclaimed 2012 generation.

“We’ve had a fabulous year with our 2012 products and we’re looking forward to an even better year with our freshly launched 2013 generation,” said Viorel Canja, head of Bitdefender Labs. “The overwhelming feedback and attention we’ve received for the quality of our product has driven us to even greater heights. We’re seriously looking forward to the testing results of our 2013 generation – the most dynamic ever.”

Bitdefender was also one of only five products that won AV Comparative’s prestigious Advanced+ Award and one of the few that showed no false positives during the March through June round of tests.

“Bitdefender has done exceptionally well throughout the past year of testing,” said Andreas Clementi of AV Comparatives. “The product has steadily shown great performance under a wide variety of circumstances. We’re seriously looking forward to testing out the 2013 generation.”

Besides the latest AV Comparatives award, Bitdefender 2012 products scored multiple wins in testing by independent anti-virus analyst AV-TEST, coming in first five times in the past year. The products also won acclaim with ICSA labs, Westo Coast Labs and VB 100.

Bitdefender in late June launched its 2013 generation of products, including Bitdefender Safepay™and its secured browser to keep online transactions private and secure, and anti-theft capabilities through Total Security 2013.
